Commentary: Does the MDC-T 'transition document' exist or not?

TENDAI Biti today is incarcerated because a document he is alleged to have authored was apparently seen by the Government. The Movement for Democratic Change (Tsvangirai) denied the existence of that document; now infamously known as the MDC-T Transition Document.

The MDC-T spokesman denied the existence of such a document. “As a party, we want to place it on record that there was no such document,” said Nelson Chamisa.

Chamisa denied the existence of the document saying this was merely another sortie in the Government’s battle to prevent Tsvangirai from taking power by frightening the higher echelons of the bureaucracy and security services about an MDC administration.

Fair enough.

But after this denial Chamisa says: "Our documents would not be circulating around Harare, unless it's a CIO means to try to cause panic."

What documents? This document? So does the document exist, or not?

Then Ambassador McGee ‘spills the beans’. He said he had seen the original MDC-T's transition document which he described as ‘a routine plan for any political party’.

Never mind the authenticity of the document, McGee contradicted Chamisa’s statement. Chamisa categorically denied the ‘existence of the document’. So a document exists; but it’s not the one we saw? And why is McGee privy to future state documents for Zimbabwe? Isn’t he just an ambassador or his mandate has been extended? He is not even a High Commissioner.

McGee went on and said a forged version had been circulating that raised issues not contained in the genuine document, including calls for punishing Mugabe hard-liners.

How does McGee know the forged one from the original one? Did he author it, perchance?

And how about the MDC-T clearing the air by showing us the authentic version — the one that McGee saw, at least? Maybe not us, but the police at least so that Biti is freed?

Then one would say to us: Why worry so much about a ‘transition document’?

Well Biti faces the death penalty over that document and that document only. It is the only piece of evidence that both the prosecution and the defence have for both their cases.

The penalties for the other charges are not as damning. He could get away with a fine.

It is now clear someone, somewhere, somehow, is lying about this document. But one thing is now clear: there’s a document. I don’t think Ambassador James McGee would come from thousands of miles to lie about having seen a ‘transition document’. Or would he?

• The truth is Biti made a stupid blunder normally attributed to the in experience-or youngsters who think they know it all. Let the Law take its cause. SAMAS says facing death penalty for a document? Well, wherever he or she is, can he author a document today saying he wants to assassinate say the PM of Britain or the President of US, and let’s see if he or she can not face a death penalty on the basis of a document. The document expresses what we feel deep inside. In most cases we are bound by what we say in documents-eg. Marriage certificate- it’s just a document. Divorce and you will know it’s not just a document.

It’s important in life that what ever we do, we guard our tongue. In the case of Biti, the tongue spoke through the pen. He will face the music for not guarding the tongue. Now that his Boss has withdrawn realizing defeat in the face, it is important they now negotiate for his release. Otherwise he will certainly be inside for some time. BITI, I really feel sorry for him. But you see how many people would have suffered as a result of his pronouncements? It’s better for one person to suffer than millions of Zimbabweans. In this case BITI should suffer for his own sins not the millions of Zimbabweans.

• Why would an ambassador of an enemy nation (that sanction Zimbabweans) need to be privy to the plans of a Zimbabwean so-called political organization?

Why would an enemy of Zimbabweans be privy to a 'private' document, which would not be circulating in Harare for ordinary Zimbabweans to share?

This is more tangible proof that the Europeans are intricately involved with MDC (Mentally Deluded by Colonialists).

MDC is being used as an attempt at 'regime change' in Zimbabwe.
Of course every alert Zimbabweans always knew that the MDC was just a gang of traitors.

However, this document that the lost leaders of MDC share with sanctioning nations is more proof that Zim Patriots need to be more resolute in dealing with the treasonous traitors of the MDC, and also with their racist slave masters.

These so-called ambassadors of sanctioning nations are acting undiplomatically.
McGee is being used in Zimbabwe; because somehow his handlers feel that he would be a better tool among Africans.

However, Zim Patriots should come down even harder on foreign enemies than they would on their own fellow Zimbabweans.

• The egotistical and narcissistic MDC-T secretary penciled and authored the document and the document for sure does exist.

Biti through the priviledges rendered to him by what he described as a geriatric regime, is a lawyer by profession. From day one after the march plebiscite, the man of law knew that he faced these charges hence becoming an undecisive headless chicken toiling from one foolish man to another in search of sanctuary. The man of law is privy to justice and in anouncing results, that was a mere lackadaiscal and unwarranted action by this fela.

The postulation was to render the nation into despondency and that on its own is tantamount to a coup which will inturn is treason. The statements of Mcgee demonstrated yet a piece of foolishness which has always characterised these felas.Stil to our own puzzle, one wonders where on earth state secret are given to ambassadors. For what reasons.Lets centre around such actions. Why was mcgee given this document in the first place?

The contents of the document itself would by no way not linked to MDC-T.The document lacked cohesiveness, reality of ideas, lacked purpose and this are the definitive traits of MDC-T.The world has got professionals who can examine the aunthenticity of a document and i bet u the document does exist.

• So many people are of the opinion that the US is the pinnacle of democracy but there is so much veiled brutality in their own laws.
If say in a hypothetical situation we were to take US laws wholesale into our country..the following scenarios unfold.
-Tel One and Net one would legally record personal phone calls and pass own details to the CIO. (US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act latest update 20 June 2008 makes this legal)
-Reserve Bank would be a private company with banks like Barclays, StanChart and CBZ being shareholders--conflict of interest (US Federal Reserve Act) For the economists - the current Federal Reserve Chairman admitted its was the Federal Reserve which created the great depression of the late 1920s and 1930s
-ZRP invades your home without a search warrant(which is an illegal practice) and obtains whatever they claim to have found in your possessions and then arrest you for it.( US HR 666-passed on Feb 8 1995 and its companion S.54 would facilitate above procedure)
-Opposition leader or anyone for that matter is arrested indefinitely for utterances which are viewed as treasonous and endangers State Security. US Unwritten Law on detaining suspected terrorists in Guantanamo Bay..The UK recently made this detention period a maximum of 42 days which is more than China`s 36 days--which country is a Democracy then?
People have different ways of interpreting these laws but the moot point is that the US enshrines everything undemocratic in its democratic constitution and goes around the world preaching do as I say not as I do. Since 9/11 the US has more or less been in a state of emergency/ martial law as citizens rights are taken away in exchange for security. If anyone disagrees the key word shouted is terrorism and any resistance is brushed aside..In a way Osama campaigned for the current president by putting out a message before a crucial presidential election in 2004,spooking people to vote for the incumbent to continue his crusade .
So its really a question of flipping a coin which results in either heads or tail but its still the same coin hence no real difference.
I hope people open their eyes and see what the world is really like.
You cannot even escape the fallacies of hypocrisy even in church.
As you kneel down and pray for the messiah to rescue you, you should note that the most famous portrait of Jesus Himself is non other than a an illegitimate son of Pope Alexander VI who commisioned the paintings done by Da Vinci and Michaelangelo. Google images of Cesar Borgia and you will see he is the true likeness of what most believe Jesus looked like(Funny that the most revered Catholic symbols are THE BLACK MADONNA AND CHILD so unlike what the Christ you see in church or movies). Cesar Borgia was once described as a murderous rapist and child molester but quite obviously he is seen as a hero by the Italian village he came from as well as the 1.2 Billion Catholics who unwittingly see his image as that of Jesus. Anyway that's my 2 cents..Rant over...

• We will see what the law will say about the document. We will see what evidence exists about Biti's hand and that of others in authoring the document. We must not forget that Zimbabwe, like other countries, has laws that can eavesdrop and protect lives. When we talk about pre-emptive action that means taking action where the evidence shows the danger ahead before it happens. The police in Zimbabwe are professional people trained to investigate and prosecute and provide evidence enough to convict an offender.Something and someone knows that Biti faulted and they are already using their freedom to remain silent or lie about their role in this act which was evident in the way they arrogantly defied all rules of law to declare themselves victors. They became deluded with foreign funds and thought they were already masters to Zimbabwe's leaders.Anyone who wishes ill of other people from a point of weakness is an anathema to society and MDC have shown the propensity to become demagogues. They are wild animals who think attaining university education is the only qualification to denounce and degrade. They play to the gallery and it is always their progressive world who matter to them and not the poor peasants who got land. They miscalculated and misunderstand the role that their handlers play and hoped to see B16 bombers raining bombs at state house. What western governments want is for Zimbabweans to kill each other and putting them in opposing camps is their way of doing it.When they oil the MDC regime change machinery, they are just ensuring that the regime in Zimbabwe remains unstable and prone to all kinds of ridicule.Gullible opportunistic leaders, both intellectual and plain ordinary, vie for recognition to either sound progressive or appear civil. They all fit the role of pawns and charlatans given this need to survive by hook and crook with begging bowls as their bedrock-their fundamental principle .They see themselves fit to create problems for those governing them because of their education or lack of it which however perpetuates poverty and subservience, slavery to be simple. That is why Biti and many others will continue to invite trouble to themselves in Zimbabwe.Thinking that a country would just arrest a leader of a party to cause disquiet is laughable when MDC are clearly the law unto themselves. They are irresponsible, gullible, insensitive and stupid.Chamisa and Biti are plainly wrong in championing a cause that defeats the sole purpose of fighting previous injustices. They cannot stop to think why it is mostly the Shona people who are being used to make the loudest and leading noise against Shona leaders. Why is Welshman not leading a party whose support is largely Ndebele? Why did Tsvangirai and not Sibanda lead the MDC at its formation?Sibanda was the leader of the ZCTU wasn't he?They know that the entire leadership in Zanu suffered incarceration to fight white domination and think that they are so special and can take over without causing disharmony and chaos.Brother against brother is the strategy. It is the horizontal violence theory in practice. It is the same strategy that made slavery workable to this day.Well it is those that read about democracy but do not understand its relevance to all human beings,Mugabe included, that pose the greatest danger to this world.

• Samas- In the UK and USA, what Biti wrote and said is tantamount to treason and he would have had his collar felt long before his feet touched the ground.
