DREADS • na. Subject: THE HAMMER OF JUSTICE... Sat, 13 Sep 2008 22:46:32 • Wikipedia.org
If I Had a Hammer (The Hammer Song) is a song written by Pete Seeger and Lee Hays. It was written in 1949 in support of the progressive movement, and was first recorded by The Weavers, a folk music quartet composed of Seeger, Hays, Ronnie Gilbert and Fred Hellerman, and then by Peter, Paul and Mary.
The song was not particularly successful when it was first released, likely due in part to the political climate of the time. It fared notably better when it was recorded by Peter, Paul, and Mary more than a decade later. Their cover of the song, released in August of 1962, became a Top 10 hit. The song has since been recorded by dozens of major artists, including a version by Trini Lopez on his 1963 album Trini Lopez at PJ's, as well as one by Leonard Nimoy, which appeared on his 1968 release The Way I Feel. A more recent example is the reggae-style cover released by BBC personality Handy Andy, which was not particularly well received.
Passengers travelling in the Euro tunnel used a hammer to get out the train to get some fresh air so they could breath. there has been two fires in that tunnel since it opened. I will never use it.
a friend of mine taking cash out at an ATM at Barclays Preston Circus in Brighton was attacked by thugs with a hammer.
is this the way you really want to live out your lives 6,000 miles away from home?
IF I HAD A HAMMER (The Hammer Song)
words and music by Lee Hays and Pete Seeger
If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
If I had a bell
I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening
All over this land
I'd ring out danger
I'd ring out a warning
I'd ring out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
If I had a song
I'd sing it in the morning
I'd sing it in the evening
All over this land
I'd sing out danger
I'd sing out a warning
I'd sing out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
Well I've got a hammer
And I've got a bell
And I've got a song to sing
All over this land
It's the hammer of justice
It's the bell of freedom
It's the song about love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

Some of these challenges have set us light years ahead of many on our own continent.
What makes it even more crazy is because our evolving so rapidly into the Developed World was instigated by none other than our original colonial masters with Gordon Brown leading their war against us in refusing to pay the white farmers and let black farmers move quietly onto the land!
We will be a better people for it because through trials and tribulations we have been inspired to greater heights despite our lowly and chaotic beginnings!
Don't anyone ever forget that Zimbabwe is a very special place - and Zimbabweans are a very special people - unlike some others we know.

Will Zimbabwe's unity deal work?
History and today’s politics show that this country, Zimbabwe, is in the quagmire it is now because problems emanating from its colonial past. I am afraid the devil of that far back era has refused to let a people free. The people themselves were not regarded in the plans of that country since the landing of the British (The Colonial Devils of Long back then). Whereas the British declared it the Queen’s land, the natives were reduced to savages that needed taming so that they could be useful productive slaves to the colonial empire and its theories of world dominance and plundering.
Then came UDI and Ian Douglas Smith the prodigal son of the Empire who sought to satisfy his own greedy ambitions thereby cutting his umbilical code from his devil origins, still note, no native was ever considered in the events of the day. Instead, so called historical deals were being done between the empire and its spoilt nephew and the native was put in line by force to stay within the boundaries of the “democratic British slavery of the then era”. Any who voiced, Nkomo, Takawira, Ziyapapa Moyo and later Robert were voices of discord branded dissidents and figments of banned political parties by virtue of their threat to democracy and human rights punishable by death for merely asking for basic equality and human rights in their own land.
Enter Robert son of Mugabe a terrorist to western democracy whereas a long sought liberator to the enslaved masses of Zimbabwe and later Africa - the victim continent of Western Imperialism. He (Mugabe) had all the capacity to demolish British dominance in that country since day one only to gamble total independence by going for a deal. Yes, Zanu and Zapu’s and the Imperialist’s ever first deal for Zimbabwe – The Lancaster Agreement!!!!!
Now herein should be your first question,
“Did this deal (The Lancaster Agreement work?”)
No need to elaborate on that, but the common minded native need no effort to see the losers of the so called first deal, The Lancaster Agreement, reincarnate themselves in the MDC so as to rot the people’s power from within order to restrangle the freedom of the people under the disguise of corruption and democracy whereas the underlying issue is that of rekindling their colonial interests and redeem their humbled world dominance ego by starving the nation as ransom.
Now I do not see any clause in the much awaited Monday Thabo chaired deal that allows for British appeasement in their so claim to their “stolen queen’s land or a reversal of the 51% and 49% trade investment laws of the era not even stripping of Eastern gains in Zimbabwe’s trade and commerce. This is just a hint as to the direction of failure the deal is destined for Mugabe dead or alive. Alluta continua!!
I say there is no better deal than the simple one man one vote ballot electoral process no matter what sector (East or West) of the world thinks. No matter how many times or loud you tell us the economy is getting better, the masses still suffer. The British and west alike for a start could do well for the first time in their manipulative history and lay their dirty paws off and let the Africans prove themselves like they always are capable given no interference.
Britain take a hint, you have more than you can chew in your platter, what with your current semi-retard at the helm of your political mercenaries, just to name one. To the BBC News, it would be of great help to the hoodwinked masses of the island that is Britain to run the question “Is Gordon and the Labour Party working for us?” parallel to the “Will Zimbabwe’s Unity Deal Work?”

Now that it has been given to this woman who is one of their own, Tsvangirai realises that blood is thicker than water and has decided to join his own.Yes blood is thicker than water.
Now lets work for Zimbabwe-forget about these guys who dangle some carrots in front of us only to withdraw them when they realise we will not serve their interests.

Do not underestimate MDC-MT.
They know exactly what they want and I believe that in asking for Lionel Dyke (the sun) this was a ploy to get the moon and everyone is now happy.
When I look at the ongoing Kenyan situation I am relieved we have had President Mbeki at the helm of our floundering ship.

Ziwewera • ziwewera@yahoo.com Subject: The rape of a nation Fri, 12 Sep 2008 08:49:04 • How do you muffle the voice of the people and then let a handful decide on the way our country should go. Let us take a moment to see who has won here, and remember that we could have been better off. Mugabe stole the presidency when he saw that his end had come. All that is happening now was part of his strategy to remain afloat. The strategy has worked; sitting in the statehouse gave him more power in the negotiating table. Zimbabwe has been raped and we clap hands for a deal? God forbid that we clap, indeed let us weep for what we see. This is our country too, how do you muzzle the will of the people and then expect them to celebrate over this so-called historic deal. What a rape of a nation!!!!!!!! Apparently Mugabe and company see it as private property and now this deal only serves to endorse their deeds. All the rhetoric lies and propaganda and politicking with people’s lives, what do you say of it. People have been killed, the nation has been violently raped and you have made the rapist a husband and you call it historic? We will not forget, our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, nephews and all who have paid with their blood for these signatures. We watch with awe!!!! Mugabe has done worse to the people of Zimbabwe than the whites. At least they left us with infrastructure and schools now Zimbabwe lies in ruins. Millions have fled. He says we should look east because the west where he himself looked to come into power is sick of him. We are worse off my people, we are worse off. All that our fathers fought for has been shamed. Mugabe made a pact with whites to rule Zimbabwe, the real leaders of our country were slain, Mugabe made a pact with Nkomo to rule Zimbabwe now the Ndebele have no voice, Mugabe has made a pact with MDC and we begin a futile rat race. As long as these people are allowed to hold Zimbabwe for themselves and not for the people, Zimbabwe will continue to be an illusion, to be pursued but never attained. The whites wanted dominion, Mugabe wants power, and we need a leader who wants every Zimbabwean’s life to be better off without fear or favour. We shall continue to pay for Zimbabwe with our lives as long as Zimbabwe belongs to Robert Mugabe, and his comrades of war against the people namely, Constantine Chiwenga, Perence Shiri, Philip Sibanda, Augustine Chihuri, Paradzayi Zimondi, Happyton Bonyongwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, and the rest of them the blood of the Zimbabwean people will be no better off than that of cows and goats which are kept for meat. Yes a race has begun, but its just a rat race with all these guys around.

Mbeki has shown African brotherhood...this is what we want. African solutions to African problems. Imperialists stay away please. Investors, yes come on board and enjoy 49% which is not enjoyed elsewhere in the world, let alone in the West. Now we can enjoy our sweat as black as we are. We gonna till the land and grow our own food and chat our own destiny. Tsvangirai, go back and call for the lifting of those sanctions. I think the opposition learnt a few things from President Mugabe and Mbeki on what is politics. This is no college business. We want serious minds that know what it means to be African where Europeans are. Viva Zimbabwe, Viva Total Independence!
