A BOMB exploded on Monday night at the CID Headquarters at Morris Depot in Harare.
Police chief spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Wayne Bvudzijena confirmed the incident, saying although the bomb damaged some sections of the building, there were no casualties.
"We confirm that a bomb exploded yesterday around 8pm at the CID Headquarters, which caused damage to walls and shattered windowpanes," Asst Comm Bvudzijena said.
He said police were investigating the incident.
In August this year, a bomb damaged the CID administration block at Harare Central Police Station while another two unexploded bombs were found on the first floor of the building, overlooking Kenneth Kaunda Avenue.
Several police officers have since been questioned in connection with the explosion, which occurred on the night of August 2.

What you should be aware of is that within the police force there are people who do not buy ZANU PF. They can see the rot and want out but are not in a position to enforce change. For some time now alot of us have been dying to do business in the land of our birth but the politics get in the way so we lie low, maintain a healthy eye on the landscape and hopefully get the chance to generate business for our countrymen. As you know in Zimbabwe, any venture needs a political Godfather who gets a huge share of the business in exchange for doing nothing at all, he doesn't even pay for his share of the business - it been assumed his patronage and looking out for us in the coridoors of power is ample payment for us to flourish. More like Mafia protection rackets really.
I decided we don't need this for our association and we would rather wait for the return of civilisation to the business sector (and the country as a whole). For the right price the sympathetic police oficcers will spill what is going on behind closed doors and some of this includes the operation conducted to bomb both Harare station and now PGHQ. I have it all including the Daily News bombing, the Century bank fiasco and the 2nd round election rigging and violence operation popularly called Mavhoterapapi.
Videos, documents, testimony, affidavits, photos you name it. It's absolutely useless to me in my business ventures but it helps me stay a step ahead of them incase they fid out about my plans and come for their share (their lion's share, that is)

Or Omuhle's that they are criminals bent on destroying evidence against them? Unless there are verifiable sources anyone can claim to be somebody or to have something as Omuhle said the other day. Editor on his own advice the other day, don't mind Omuhle passing the complete report on his desk to more erstwhile publishing houses.
Patrick Fletcher • hajray@gmail.com Subject: Bombs explodes at CID HQ Wed, 19 Nov 2008 19:36:32 • It look like the United States and the EU are using terrorist tactics in a effort to completely destabilize Zimbabwe. The only people who can claim to have a report that is even more complete then the police that are investigating the matter, would actually be the people who plan the bombing in the first place.
Wayne Bvudzijena • info@pghq.co.zw Subject: Bomb at CID HQ Wed, 19 Nov 2008 15:14:45 • Omuhle, please tell us the full story! We need the full story please. My belief is that this is a ploy for these murderers to round up members of the MDC, accusing them of this cowardly act. This will simply not work. Remember they locked up MDC members including senior members, on the unfounded allegation that some MDC youths had been trained in South Africa? They are now shamelessly claiming Botswana is training MDC militia. I tell you Mugabe will stop at nothing in his quest to prevent the popularly elected MDC to share power, let alone run this country. These are just hopes kicks of a dying horse.
Omuhle • n/a Subject: n/a Wed, 19 Nov 2008 13:44:39 • I said it then and I'll say it now again, there are criminals bent on destroying evidence against them.
Soon when matters go to court involving some big wigs we can expect to hear the lame excuse that evidence was destroyed in the bomb blasts at Morris depot and Harare PS.
I also wonder why your report is not as complete as what I have on my desk? Why do you have the watered down version when I have names and more precise times and who was seen running away from the scene?
But then again, it is expecting too much from you to pursue the true picture when we aer so polarised. I am receiving daily reports to stay abreast of the situation and protect my businesses where as you receive news and filter what might affect your principles before disseminating.
Still...I think this deserves to be outthere and I'm passing the report on to more erstwhile publishing houses.
