China says sanctions against Zimbabwe unhelpful

CHINA says that increasing sanctions against the Government of Zimbabwe is not the answer to the country’s crises, as the European Union threatened more sanctions against the country.

Speaking from South Africa on Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiachi said his government was opposed to further imposition of sanctions against Zimbabwe and expressed confidence in the decisions taken by the Southern African Development Community (Sadc) and the African Union – guarantors to the Global Political Agreement signed by the ruling Zanu PF party and the two formations of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change parties.

"We do believe that this issue fundamentally has to be solved by the various elements in Zimbabwe and we believe that the stand taken by the AU, by Sadc, are vitally important," said Yang at the end of the last leg of his four-nation African tour.

Yang said the all-inclusive Government was the only answer to Zimbabwe’s problems and the key to the crisis’ resolution.

"We support this mediated activity. We don’t think that sanctions are the way out. This remains China’s policy," he told reporters after a meeting with his South African South African counterpart Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma outside Cape Town.

China and South Africa have both come under sharp criticism from the West on their stance on Zimbabwe, joining hands at the United Nations Security Council in blocking efforts to have the country placed on the agenda.

EU THREATENS MORE SANCTIONS

The European Union is contemplating the imposition of new sanctions against the Zimbabwe Government.

Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg, who also held a meeting with Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma on Friday, said the EU is contemplating the implementation of further sanctions against Zimbabwe

The meeting of the two foreign ministers was also attended by EU development commissioner Louis Michel.

Schwarzenberg said sanctions will not be affecting the general Zimbabwean population but will hit "those who are responsible and in power," according to a report by AFP news agency.

The Zimbabwean Government blames sanctions imposed by the West for the current economic crisis in the country.

Everyone with an understanding of nature knows that every sensible nation and creature that exist look out for their own interest, I am sure the evil west is looking out for its own interest in Africa even if it means killing every Zimbabweans and Africans in order to secure its interest. At least the Chinese are not going to the extreme of seek to terminate Zimbabweans in order to secure their interest, at least they can be a partner and not a enemy like the evil west. The turtle head fellow, Tsvangirai, is a traitor and a sell-out that puts the interest of the west before the interest of Zimbabwe, before the interest of Africa. Tsvangirai is a anomaly of nature.

Thanks so much to patriots and nationalists like Jairos Tapfuma (Cde Tapfu) and Omugabe, whose ideals and dreams of Black advancement or African development hinge on the concept of fighting white imperialism. Ironically Zimbabwe and Africa badly need characters of the ilk of Cde Tapfu and Omugabe to keep the fire of African patriotism and nationalism burning, especially when the only stories post-colonial Africa has ever explicitly told are of corruption, dearth of rule of law, poverty, starvation, diseases and wars (cold in Zim or active DRC, Darfur and Somalia). Surprisingly despite the loud and seemingly bold rhetoric, Zimbabwe and Africa as a continent still rely on the handouts (financial loans or donations) from the West for survival. UN aid programs are funded by the West with 60% of the aid coming from the USA. Therefore, until and unless we can sorely fund our own projects without outside assistance it is empty patriotism or nationalism and utter hogwash to pursue the anti-West, anti-imperialism wars and concepts of correcting injustices of the past in Africa. We Zimbabweans have a long way to go and may have to wait forever for the day patriots continuously sing about: the special day when songs of freedom, nationalism, sovereignty and black empowerment will be turned into real food for the hungry and medicines for the sick. There are countries in this world outside Africa, such as Cuba, North Korea, Burma and Venezuela which sing songs of nationalism like Zimbabwe. Cubans depend on Venezuela. The North Koreans are fed by South Korea and China. The junta in Burma brutally represses, impoverishes its people and uses proceeds from oil to build a modern city with high tech gadgetry only and exclusively for itself. Venezuela is surviving because the wheels of its oil industries are still turning.

They are entitled to their opinion but we are aware of their own selfish interests in this as well. They want Mugabe to remain in charge so then can sell more arms to Zim and continue to exploit Zim's resources, so this is not benevolence on the part of the Chinese.

Of course I do not blame them, they are smart they are protecting their interests!

The question is what are our national interests as Zimbabweans?

That is bold enough. Unfortunately some Africans are shy to declare the truth. A black fellow is under siege bacause he has dared challenge European imperialism, and unfortunately some of his people have no spine or they are selling out and eating from the same plates as the imperialists.

However the truth is blacks will never become white Europeans just because they smile at George Bush or Gordon Brown. They will remain pitch black and very African as they were created by God, the creator of the earth.

I salute China, one of the many Asian tigers who managed to shake off that white imperialism and knows what self-sustenance means.

Only Africans should take the lead in solving the problems in Zimbabwe, then we need the support of the whole world-but as for the formula, it should be African and very pitch black. Off course we can not survive without others, but the world does not mean Europe and Europe alone-NO!

Racist enemies of Africans ARE EXPECTED to act evilly against Africans. No surprise there.

The more criminal sanctions that the racist and evil Europeans impose, the more it is clear to Zim Patriots and to ALL Africans that Africans CANNOT cannot surrender under and serve such forces of racist evil!

To surrender and serve evil would be Self-destructive for Africans. No wise man would willing surrender under Europeans. It would be like surrendering to wild beasts. That is historically how bad the Europeans have been.

'Look Inward' and Look East, Zim Patriots.
The FRIENDLY Chinese and others in the East have more than enough of the goods and services to trade with Africans.
