PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe says he hopes that a “new chapter” has been opened in Zimbabwe’s political relations by the recent power-sharing agreement brokered in South Africa by the region’s Heads of States and Government.
The regional Southern African Development Community (Sadc) leaders on Tuesday morning announced that the rival parties in Zimbabwe had agreed to form an all-inclusive Government by February 13.
"We hope that this will open a up a new chapter in our political relations in the country and in structures of government," said President Mugabe at Harare airport on arrival from the Sadc Extraordinary Summit held in Pretoria, South Africa on Monday.
President Mugabe also appeared on ZTV saying: “We agreed that an inclusive Government should be formed. Dates have been stipulated for the various acts...... starting with swearing-in of the top people, the prime minister, deputy prime ministers and ministers.”
"We will look at the concerns that the MDC raised regarding governors and other appointments," he added.
The president also said that he hoped the enactment of Constitutional Amendment No 19 Bill would "lead to the legalization of the agreement" without which the Global Political Agreement signed on September 15, 2008 remains a mirage.
A communiqué issued by Sadc on Tuesday laid out a timeline for the formation of a long-awaited all-inclusive Government sharing power between President Mugabe and opposition leaders Morgan Tsvangirai and Professor Arthur Mutambara.
The MDC, however, issued a conflicting statement soon after the Extraordinary Summit saying Sadc decisions fell "far short of our expectations."

The MDC-T may join Mugabe in Government, but the times have changed. Zimbabweans in all walks of life have been politicised. There is no longer naivity in Zimbabwe's politic world. We, the people of Zimbabwe, know exactly what we want and what we do not want. We no longer have any faith with Mugabe and his Zanu PF. We are not confident that lives can be improved as long as Mugabe and his Zanu PF party still have a role to play in our country. The same goes for Tsvangirai. It is legally his choice if he decides to sup with the devil. We did not like you personally as a person of ethics. You are a leader of purpose. Once that purpose is no longer necessary you will find yourself sidelined. wE WAIT TO SEE HOW YOU WILL PERFORM. Remember, all what we want for our country and our people is freedom, democracy and universal equal rights for all Zimbabweans.

Zanu PF is an unrepentant cannibal, it thrives on the lives of Zimbabweans
N/A • N/A Subject: MDC TAKE MUGABE SERIOUSLY Tue, 27 Jan 2009 15:47:28 • I hope the MDC will take his Excellency's comments that ZANU PF will look into the concerns that MDC has raised on governors and other appointments seriously because he means what he says.
Those concerns will certainly be looked at. If the MDC Councils rejects participation, then History will judge them seriously.
They dont own us Zimbabweans, a section of Zimbabweans own them, the same way a section of Zimbabweans own ZANU PF.
Combined, we are the shareholders in these parties. Any party which does not work for our interests, we will throw it into the dustbin
More and More we are seeing one party taking a kew from those imposing sanctions on Zimbabwe.Such parties may find themselves excluded from the high tables of Zimbabwe's Dinner table.
