Zimbabwe to exhibit at Russia's Travel Shows

ZIMBABWE will show case its vast tourists attractions at Russia’s Travel Shows which will be held in Moscow this month.


Two international travel and tourism shows are set for Russia next week. The first show will be held from the 15th to the 18th, with the second one set for the 19th to the 22 of this month.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Mr Karikoga Kaseke who will lead the Zimbabwe delegation said Russia falls at number seven in the whole world in terms of tourism generation and spending.

He said Russia is a potential market for Zimbabwe’s Tourism Industry.

Kaseke said the travel shows are an opportunity to market the country as a preferred destination for the Russian population.

Mr Karikoga said the tourism industry falls at top three of the major boosters of the economy in Zimbabwe besides mining and agriculture which are the major boosters of the economy.

Tourism creates a lot of employment in the country.

Kaseke said the benefits from the travel shows are great and are likely to be felt in the next six to nine months. The Zimbabwe delegation will comprise tour operators, hoteliers and hunting concession operators.
