THE world is currently mesmerised with the USA elections and the mystery winner is about to be exposed, but how will the majority of Afro-Americans really feel, besides disappointment, if their man does not ultimately walk up those steps into the White House?
Their burden has always been that they are descended from slaves without visible roots, but now that DNA is able to identify exactly where they originated, surely this should be a thing of the past? At last Afro Americans are able to identify their lost tribes somewhere out there in the Motherland, but how many have taken advantage of this new scientific database?
It is also interesting that many of the Jews and Palestinians share DNA. In comparison to the Afro Americans, the mass exodus of the Jews to their newly promised land is well documented and the commitment of today’s Jews, desperate to visit their new homeland and to contribute thereto, is equally publicised. Every Jew wants to visit Israel at least once during their lifetime, and as a result of their commitment Israel is going from strength to strength. The Muslims are another whose roots draw them to visit Hajj at least once in their lifetime. Why don’t Afro Americans share such passion? Is it because Africa was there at the beginning and everyone thinks it will be there that the end?
Back in the USA, imagine if Hillary wins, and all those disillusioned Afro-Americans who voted for Barack Obama decided to turn their backs on the White House and instead, look inwards and contemplate their early beginnings, even long before Kunta Kinta left our sunny shores, to end up a hundred years later as a household word in an American screenplay entitled “Roots”?
With DNA available to pinpoint their ancestors, the Afro Americans have so much to offer Africa. Many have the qualifications and the expertise to return to their roots and breathe new life into that which was once theirs? Thousands of them have no knowledge about their traditions, so that their true destiny has not yet been realised – do they believe that their destiny is ultimately to die in Iran, via the USA, leaving their work on this Planet unfinished. The secret to longevity is not what can one get out of life, but what can one put into this life?Imagine if the Jews had been given Africa as “the promised land”. That continent would now surely be a force to reckon with – just as Israel is today!
Perhaps it didn’t matter in the past, but having arrived so close to their goal, if Barack Obama fails, for whatever reasons, what will their options be? Apparently things are not up to scratch in the USA right now, where unemployment is rife, the market has fallen out the bottom of the housing market and any loose change in the coffers could well be channelled into financing another war in Iran.
Will the Afro Americans stand back and watch their sons and daughters drafted to Iran, to die there for some cause that is not their own, while the rest of the family hang about waiting another five years to see if matters improve? Or, will they trace their ancestors and go back to the Motherland and do something meaningful with their lives? If so, it could be the turning point for Africa.
If you think Margaret Thatcher was hard chore, you haven’t seen anything yet. The Iron Maiden of Britain was merely a female prototype of things to come, and if Hillary Rodham Clinton gets the chance, she is going to build on that prototype and finish it. Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned, and she is out to prove to the world that she can do a better job than her husband ever dared. It is payback time!
If she succeeds, do you think she will get back into the White House in five years time? It depends, but the competition then will probably be between Barack Obama and Condoleeza Rice, and the 50 States of the USA will have no option but to vote in an Afro American President. If Hillary does a good job, then Condoleeza, as a woman, will certainly stand a far better chance.Men have had it all their own way for too long now!
