PRETORIA — The man at the centre of the African National Congress hoax email saga, Muziwendoda Kunene, appearing briefly in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court last Thursday, pleaded guilty to withholding information and contravening theIntelligence Services Oversight Act.
The emails allegedly implicated senior ANC members in a conspiracy against the then ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma, who has since been elected president of the party.
He was sentenced to three months imprisonment suspended for threeyears provided that he is not convicted of contravening Section 7 ofthe Intelligence Services Oversight Act.

Dressed in a black shirt and khaki pants, he pleaded guilty towithholding information from the Inspector General of Intelligence.
This, after he entered into an agreement with the State.
He was sentenced to three months imprisonment suspended for threeyears provided that he is not convicted of contravening Section 7 ofthe Intelligence Services Oversight Act.
Kunene allegedly withheld information on emails aimed atdiscrediting senior ANC officials.
