THE meaning of “atonement” is a doctrine found both within Christianity and Judaism, describing how sin can be forgiven by God. In Christian theology, Atonement refers to the forgiving or pardoning of sin through the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion, making possible the reconciliation between God and creation. In Judaism however, Atonement is the process of forgiving or pardoning a transgression (Wikipedia).
Those of you have seen Keira Kinightly and James McAvoy in the film “Atonement” will be shocked to learn that this amazing WW2 film it was shot only within a few kilometers of Osbaston House, near Maesbrook (a village in Shropshire in the District of Oswestry Council in England, Midlands UK) where, at the time of writing, two bodies have been found in the deliberately burned-out Shropshire home of the millionaire, Christopher Foster (50) who is now missing along with his wife Jillian (4) and daughter Kirstie (15). The movie production team for “Atonement” spent almost six weeks filming on location in this south Shropshire area, where scenes were shot at Stokesay Court at Onibury.
So far, the remains of three dead horses were found in a stable block, as well as the bodies of three dogs. A large horse box, parked close to the gates of the property, has been removed from the site for forensic examination. While West Mercia Police have confirmed that the bodies were found in the main part of the house, a Home Office pathologist and post mortem examinations are to be carried out.
Supt Gary Higgins said: "It is going to be a painstaking and lengthy process before the full examination of the house and its surrounds is completed.
"In the meantime, we will keep an open mind concerning what we may, or may not find."
