Zim film-makers seek funding for children's movie

Sat, 17 May 2008 16:48:00 +0000

ZIMBABWE’S film-makers, Africa Sun Film & Television are looking for funding to turn Uncle’s Glass Eye into a children's movie.

Executive film director Stephen Chigorimbo, who is busy overseeing the hand-rearing of four identical goats to play the role of Birrie the Kid,  was last year awarded the Presidential Cup for his contribution to film in Zimbabwe over the last 25 years!

Casting the right characters as the 10-year old orphaned boy, Panashe, as portrayed by Donette Read Kruger in this African adventure, is his next challenge.

In addition to the above, a group of freelance actors in Nottingham, UK have chosen this story as their own personal project in an audio book based on the adventures of the orphaned boy and his goat.

Available on www.amazon.com, Uncle's Glass Eye is recommended by the Ministry of Education, Sport & Culture Education Services, Harare, Zimbabwe as a Supplementary Reader for Senior Primary and Junior Secondary pupils.
