Pray for Zim – inter-denomination Night Vigil in Leicester

Meeting Announcement

Thu, 27 Mar 2008 00:03:00 +0000

A GROUP of Zimbabweans have co-ordinated a Zimbabwe Inter-denomination Night Vigil on the eve of Zimbabwe's elections.

Most of us in the diaspora will not able to vote, but for those priviledged enough who are registered as voters, when they queue up for their turn to vote, they will stand alongside each other irrespective of political or religious beliefs.

It is that same spirit that we intend to bring on the 28th of March, 2008. A spirit of Zimbabweaness which ignores religion or politics but values LOVE and togetherness. We are one family.

The Purpose of the Night Vigil is to pray for all our political leaders, all Zimbabweans wherever they may be and sparing a thought for those who will be enduring the long queues to cast that important vote, and generally praying for hope and peace to all Zimbabweans.

The Vigil is not a political forum.

Guest Speakers expected:

Pastor Chinosengwa

Pastor Edmore Chibwana

Evangelist  Mugadzaweta

Mr Farai Puwai

We also expect to have time for a few individuals from the audience for short speeches/prayers.

DATE:               28 MARCH, 2008 (FRIDAY)

TIME:               2200HRS - 0400HRS

PLACE:

BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH HALL

GOODING AVENUE

LE3 1JS

BRAUNSTONE

LEICESTER

The event will start with a Roman Catholic Mass led by Father Maloney from the Blessed Sacrament Parish at 2200hrs, with the choir singing in Zimbabwe’s vernacular languages. Thereafter, the Present Worship will lead the singing for the rest of the event.

Come along and join us if you can and pray for your country.
