DEAR EDITOR─THE newly installed hooligan MPs from the Movement for Democratic Change will bring disrepute to the system of governance in Zimbabwe, something they purport to be promoting.
Yesterday’s hooligan behaviour when Mugabe addressed Parliament cannot be condoned by any right thinking Zimbabwe and any attempt to defend such behaviour is ludicrous.
The promises by the opposition to give greater respect, weight, significance to Zimbabwean politics have not been delivered.
The House of Assembly is the most peaceful and sober institution in Zimbabwe. Respectable opposition politicians like Prof. Welshman Ncube and David Coltart served well alongside Zanu PF members without any iuncidents, except perhaps for that Roy Bennett accident years ago – another MDC hooligan.
Our parliament needs to mutate if it wants to survive and members were elected by the people to represent their interests, not to engage in such beastly behaviour.
Our Parliament is facing a crisis of respect. Our legislators need to communicate better if they are to be effective. The MPs need to be educated about the importance and relevance of the the House.
A key challenge for everyone in politics who wishes to improve the standing of Parliament must be to demonstrate in the clearest terms that the decisions they take during proceedings have a direct impact on the lives of the people they represent.
How can such hooligans uphold parliament's role to hold the executive to account when they behave like a bunch of illiterates themselves?

I do not agree that our parliamentarians were all that wrong (though heckling is not progressive, it is high time Mugabe should realize that his terror tactics do not have the same old effect)
It is indeed high time that people show him that he is not greater than Zimbabwe, We are not HIS Zimbabwe!, as he sometimes claims.
I have a message for Grace Mugabe, The state house does not belong to you and your husband , that is why its called STATE HOUSE DUMMY!, so stop saying that Tsvangirayi will never set foot in it.
To Mugabe and Zanu pf, my message is that God did not put you into these positions of power, it was the people of Zimbabwe, and you have clung on to power for the last ten years without the people's mandate, hence the parliament itself has lost respect with most of us Zimbabweans. I dare not talk about the Heroes acre!.
Whilst not condoning the behavior of the MDC MPs on that day i can understand it in the light that Mugabe and Zanu pf have turned all of our public institutions into circuses. (Just look at the Justice system, apart from making it ineffectual we have Gono giving them cars & LCD Tvs , which is totally ubsurd, where is the independence of our justice system, even our Magistrates are still GVT employees. )

In the bible, some youths were devoured by hyenas for laughing at Elisha. There is a reson for that. I am surprised that church pastors who should no better are silent when some of these boys and girls are behaving contrary to the teachings of GOD. Maendepiko nhai vatsvene va Mwari?
Whatever since Mugabe may have done, he deserves respect first as an elderly, and second as the President of the country.
Lets no debate about his Presidency. He was chosen by the people we all know that even Morgan knows it.
Our Legislators should respect the institution of the Presidency.
I forgive the new Speaker, but hope he will not tolerate such kind of behaviour in future-otherwise the leopard will rebel against him.
You might not like it but the rumblings of democracy are coming.
I will never respect Mugabe or the sycophants of Zanu PF. I spit on them.
