DEAR EDITOR–The attempt on the part of the Western governments to construct a powerful opposition in Zimbabwe and install a government of their choice is proving to be an impossible task.
In order to be effective, such a move requires grass roots support. But every grass roots movement necessarily opposes the Western governments who are responsible, in large part, for the social misery in Zimbabwe—not just because of mismanagement and corruption by some elements in Zanu PF, but also because of the Western inspired economic programmes which have transformed all Africa into a poor house.
In light of the impotence of the opposition, attention is being directed more and more to possible props inside the Zanu PF government itself. There, the number of Zanu PF elements who are ready to work with the opposition and the West is increasing.
Simba Makoni was the forerunner to all this.
Others—above all in the so-called “moderate or reformist wing” of Zanu PF—are maintaining a low profile, hoping this will transform themselves. This is ill-advised and irresponsible.
All Zimbabweans need to recognize that these underground tactics will not do well for our country. We should all work together for the common good and that starts with being open about our intentions and focussing on developing our nation.

These puppets should renounce their anti-people, anti-Zim, pro-colonialism, pro-white and anti-black positions they have taken. Only after that can we say because we are all Zimbos can we now to start working for the greater good of our country and our people. No individual should think that only his signature will bring glory and wealth to the people and the country. This signature can singularly give him (MT)wealth if appended on a document agreeing to the recolonisation of the country by his political masters but will surely bring about doom and gloom for the rest of us! Hence we need to understand that yes, we need to unite to bring about an economic turnaround in the country but we should also know who to do that with. Right now we have the CZI calling for the establishment of ''diplomatic shops'' in the country in order to ''harness'' foreign currency! This is balderdash! The same organisation has been at the forefront of economic sabotage by channelling resourcing on to the black market and smuggling basic commodities to Khama's Botswana which would then be re-exported into the country and sold at exorbitant prices at the expense of ordinary Zimbos. We say no to this madness which Jokonya and friends want the govt to introduce. The reason being that CZI wants to save envoys of govts that are sanctioning Zim from making constant and regular shopping trips to SA for their groceries. They should all suffer like we do otherwise they should tell their govts to remove their sanctions in the first place. We know they (envoys)get hardship allowances after all which we do not get! It seems anyone who clandestinely supports the MDC but publicly professes to being apolitical can try to armtwist the govt into self-serving policies. We say no to that and those who want to be businessman and politicians are free to do that. We have had enough of these jerks who have blatantly compromised the livelihood of ordinary Zimbos for personal glory and wealth for themselves and their families! Ngativatonge kusvikira vanaka ana ''Tongai tione''.
