Murombedzi is right on the MDC

DEAR EDITOR – (In response to Philip Murombedzi’s article entitled: “MDC Paradigm shift! What paradigm shift? SEE HERE) It is utterly mischievous of the MDC to complain about hate language in the Herald. Websites and newspapers sympathetic to MDC cause are filled with such unbelievable hate language against President Mugabe and Zanu PF and its supporters.

Yes the demonisation of President Mugabe and Zanu PF is in full throttle. That is a well known West's strategy when they want to effect regime change.

Pity some of our Zim brothers and sisters are swallowing that line hook, line and sinker.

Majority of us Zimbabweans are very confused on what the MDC stands for. We have heard their slogans such as democracy, human rights, rule of law, governance etc. What do these terms actually mean?

At least with Zanu-PF, we know their positions on land reform, black empowerment, on sanctions etc.

Philip is right to ask what the position of the MDC is on such crucial issues.

Judging from the behaviour of some MDC members in terms of dissenting voices, I question their democratic credentials since they are very intolerant of such voices.

Some Zimbabwean students have had their education disrupted because of campaigns mounted by MDC supporters. Other Zimbabweans have been hounded out of their jobs as a result of MDC campaigns? That is not democracy. Is it guys? That is dictatorship.

Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Zanu PF supporters have every right to belong to the party and should be very proud of the liberation credentials of the party.

Has anyone observed that the Ukrainian Orange Revolution is beginning to unravel? Take heed!

JM if you think that those in ZANU (PF) and their supporters are thieves, think again. Think of colonialism and its in vogue equivalent: globalisation and free markets as real theft. This is daylight robbery at an unprecedented scale. Pillage not of one nation's resources but the of the whole world to benefit only a few greedy individuals. Have a look at what is happening to the financial markets at the moment. JM please realise that in fact as Zimbabweans, by repossessing our land surely that can not be called theft. Why do you think that it is only the white folk who are entitled to being wealthy. Have you ever asked yourself what happened to all the millions which benefited the colonialists and their cronies? Are we ever going to get all that back?
JM your way of thinking is a worry in the 21st century.

JM - You have to admit that the majority of Zims know where they stand with Zanu-PF. Instead of your very anti-Zanu-PF stance, why don't you expend your energy telling us what MDC really stands for. My grandmother in rural Zim does not understand slogans such as change, democracy, rule of law , human rights etc. But boy oh boy she understands the land reforms and can recite to you chapter and verse about the historical injustices of the colonial land distribution. The legacy of Zanu-PF will be education above all. Millions of us Zimbabweans benefited from an excellent educational system that has allowed us to see the world as our oyster. We are educated and will not fall for any propaganda. We have learnt to read between the lines. We are global citizens now and can comment about our experiences from any part of the world now. Another legacy of Zanu-PF has an extraordinary boost to our self esteem. After centuries of being told we were inhuman and inferior, we now have a unshaken belief in ourselves that we are equal to everyone else all because of our post independence experiences.Check us out on the world stage. We are proud of our being Africans and Zims. As for your insinuations that nobody wants to invest in Zim,don't you worry a lot of friendly nations are already doing so and Zims in the diaspora are beginning to invest. As for the sanctions, the majority of Zims are very much aware that the sanctions were imposed to effect regime change. Google Zidera Act, 2001 and the EU sanctions. We have researched the implications of these sanctions and are very much aware that they are not targeted but are meant to hurt the general Zim populace so as to change its voting behaviour. JM you can be assured that armed with this information, we are making sure our folks in Zim are aware of this.
Anyone who imposes and supports the sanctions against Zim is no friend of Zimbabweans.

Don't fool yourself into thinking that Zanu know want they stand for like black empowerment and sanctions etc......only if you support zanu do you get access to the loot that has been stolen for the past 28 years the sanctions that you talk about have you stopped to think that zanu have caused all this by attacking businesses the judicary the farms etc who in their right mind will invest, not even China has invested because there is no rule of law.............Zanu has no interest in the ordinary black people of Zimbabwe ony in personal enrichment and power.........Zanu has no direction and has failed the people of Zim and all they and their supporters can do is blame the white man and drought and of course sanctions..........the MDC are only 9 years old but still defeated Zanu this must say something..............
