Has Tsvangirai ditched Sadc and the AU?

Nyasha - Opinion

Mon, 17 Nov 2008 02:00:00 +0000

DEAR EDITOR – I do not know what to make of the MDC leader’s absence from a crucial meeting of his executive on Friday.

We hear that he is now in France consulting on the progress of Zimbabwean talks.

Why France? Why Europe? I thought the MDC-T party’s next step was the African Union. Apparently not.

The issue of a passport for me is not important, but it would be good to know how he managed to travel to the European Union without a valid travel document, and whether he is still coming back to Zimbabwe.

I would hate to imagine that Tsvangirai could opt to leave MDC-T supporters in Zimbabwe to fight their own war without him. How much can the MDC-T supporters take of these antics? They voted for him, but always get the second class treatment from a man preaching to offer them first class treatment.

We hope the EU will do for Tsvangirai, what Sadc and the AU would not do for him and his MDC-T party. And we hope he will not come back to the same organisations he seems to be abandoning!

• Hamadziripi what do you mean when you say by the time the Europeans come all the mines will be owned by the so called liberators? Are they supposed to come and own all the mines? Do you know more than we know or it's just colonial hang over?

• By the time the Europeans comes all mines will be owned by the so called liberators???
You are crying fowl, its all the same, what so of deals are being made , Bindura, Platinum Great Dyke, Zisco.Follow it up and see where we are with these so called concerned leaders.
If we Zimbabweans as people stand for transparent in governance , Europeans ,Chinese can come but they would find solid policies which protects the Nation and its resources. To establish those firm policies we need sober leadership, thats what we are lacking right now.
Call a spade a spade.

• Zimbabweans need to know where the EU interests lie and demonstrate this to the whole world. We need to start staging vigils every day on every mine and every white farm in Zimbabwe. We have every reason to believe that it is these resources that white people want to siphon clandestinely out of Zimbabwe without the world watching.A human chain covering the entire length of Mazoe mine, Ashanti nickel and Gold mine, all platinum mines will see how much plunder goes unnoticed in Zimbabwe. The people who should improve conditions in Zimbabwe are those that do real business and mining is second to agriculture and should have cushioned the government if it was not because of the activities of sabotage enhanced by the intransigence of the MDC formations. That is the very reason why EU make all the noise.Remember they agreed to protect their interests rather than fight each other when they partitioned Africa in 1945.

• Why worry for Tsvangison , the Politiburo has already asked Purezidhende to set up a cabinet with or without MDC, so whats stopping him?Never mind how Tsvangison travelled to Europe because its his business.
The spirit of Politiburo can you say they are negotiating in good faith or they are games. If Zanu PF is playing games with SADC, what makes you think Tsvangison can also find friends who listens to him.
Lets take it this way Ladies and Gentlemen, whether we like it all not, these politicians can play games with our lives till Jesus comes, thats a fact.
Its like if you play the SADC card , I will play the EU.If you bring AU card then I will bring the United Nation card.
Its games guys they will be played while our stomachs are hungry. They will be played till we reach our graves and no one cares.
Its high time Zimbabweans we wake up!!!

• Morgan Tsvangirai can do exactly as he likes for as long as it takes. He is totally supported by ubiquitous organisations like the BBC. Time, like he always says, is on his side. One of the reasons is because the BBC is mandated to broadcast only negative news about Africa at least once a week. Sometimes the BBC indulges itself and obeys this law with ruthless regularity by braodcasting negative news about Africa all day everyday for weeks on end. This negative news strategy works for the mindset of people like Tsvangirai because it is transmitted to every inch of the globe through the thousands of outlets and websites that the BBC has at its disposal.

The BBC calls this Psychological Operations or Psych Ops or Soft Power. The idea is to infuse the whole world with such contemptous pity for Africa that no one will be surprised when they move into our continent and recolonise as has happened in the Congo. It is also intended to fill us Africans with such self loathing, despair, despondency and helplessness that we all become too overwhelmed by our problems to defend our homeland, again as has happened in the Congo. By the time the newly homeless Congolese made their way to the cholera infested tents to receive handouts from their benefactors the BBC had already prepared the goundwork, just as they are doing when they show the world the empty shelves in Zimabwe, the discouragingly long queues and the unbelievable inflation. The BBC is showing the world, warning the world, teaching the world that absolutely no country DISOBEYS it and its government and gets away with it. The Pscyh Ops are working. Zimbabweans are now more discouraged than they have ever been. This is why Tsvangirai is working with them and is in France. He is a vital part of the Psych Ops in Zimbabwe.

Thorougly dissatisfied with his lot in life, Laurent Nkunda, Morgan Tsvangirai's spiritual brother, surrounded himself with like minded convicts, criminals and renegades when he was recruited as their proxy by the Entente Cordiale. The Eastern Congolese were inhabiting a mouth watering, mineral rich piece of real estate. The Proxy had to frighten them into leaving. He shot quite a few people for show. The BBC dutifully reported and photographed the gory scenes to show the Congolese still stubbornly clinging to their homes and force them to leave. Terrified as they watched their families being slaughtered by the psychotic proxy they left their homes unprotected, leaving the Entente Cordiale to ruthlessly pillage, plunder, loot and ransack their natural resources from the ground on which their homes once stood. Attention was meanwhile focused on Nkunda, whose greivances we barely remember. All the global media film his every actions. since when does a rebel allow himself to be compromisd by being filmed in broad delight and have his secrets revealed to his enemies? The Entente Cordiale will not leave the Congo empty handed and are turning that country into a blazing inferno. This is a lesson for all Zimbabweans

Never underestimate their capacity for persistence. They have now subjected the whole world to their unutterably embarrassing behaviour over Zimbabwe for 11 years now and show no signs of tiring. If they are indefatiguable, so is Tsangirai.

In the meantime we are constantly treated to an elaborate dispaly of their munificence. The tents fortuitously awaiting occupation by the newly displaced Congolese, the NGO's, the UN and ofcourse the handouts of aid. These are all important parts of the Psych Ops. Only they can save us. The indifferent UN army, all 17,000 of them, are unable to defend the Congolese against the psychotic proxy and his well equipped army. The African Union will never be invited to keep the peace. They might see the truth for what it is and start blabbing all over the shop. Worse still, they might win agaist the unhinged Nkunda. Better the devil you know (the UN). He who pays the piper plays the tune. The UN army can be counted on to turn a blind eye to the plunder and the slaughter.

As we watch the horror unfold in the Congo and the devastating effects of sanctions on Zimbabwe, the BBC's Africa desk is celebrating with champagne. Both projects, Congo and Zimbabwe, have been spectacularly successful Psych Ops in Africa. The BBC revels in, and excels at, Psych Ops. The organisation would be bereft if it were deprived of negative news on Africa. The BBC is quite simply the Eye of the Empire and the Voice of British Interests in the Colonies.

• One thing l know from experience is that when the Brushit and EU invest money, they want quick returns and massive profits.

Now Project Zimba is becoming very elusive for them with no returns at all. Millions of pounds have been invested but no profit coming out yet. There managers ie MDC are not producing regardless of how much they have been given.

They thought it was going to be fast and furious.

• MT has no plan of his own hence these trips to his masters to be spoonfed what to parrot at the next Induna with our leaders on his return.

MT has completely lost the plot and I suspect he is busy lining his pockets with allowances on such trips. Talk of making hay while the sun still shines.

The man is bankrupt as a leader and that is the sole reason why RGM does not see eye-to-eye with him on many issues. He is a European and American puppet.

• Nothing personal against Tsvangirai but I don't like the controversy surrounding his ascendance to office. Why doesn't it occur to MDC strategists that they are setting a precedent of external interference in the determining of Zimbabwean leaders? As soon as MDC is in power the same process will start again only this time it will be a different person and party. Does MDC value the association and friendship of African institutions? If they do, they have a strange way of showing it. Does it occur to Tsvangirai that he may not get the cooperation that he so desperately needs from the leaders that he is labelling as incompetent? How do you go into an arbitration with a mindset that you will only accept your own preconcieved outcome? Tsvangirai and MDC must wake and smell the coffee not to continue playing opposition politics when they are supposed to be the ruling party.

• We all get the leaders we deserve. Zimbabweans are quite happy to be unrinated on by their so-called leaders...and worse still, when the leaders tell them its good for them...they clamour for more.

Look at how many articles were written regarding Tsvangson's ETD and how this showed 'insincerity on the side of Zanu-PF.

The same people were urging Tsvangson not to go to Swaziland and South Africa but are happy to see him travel on an ETD to Europe to consult, never mind that he is consulting in Europe on the day he is supposed to give feedback on what happened at SADC!

The MDC leadersship did gather to hear what happened at SADC, and no-one was worried that the person who attended SADC was not there to give feedback.

We all get the Leadership we deserve.

• Anebenzi nderake kudzana unopururudza.

Remember reports coming from the Rwanda massacre probe? France is being implicated in have played a hand in that Hutu, Tutsi war. He is still dreaming and praying, beging the EU to invade Zimbabwe so he can be President through the back door. From our point of view he might have upstaged President Mugabe in June elections. But hold your horses guys. The man may appear stupid and foolish, but noted in time that results were going to be in favour of President Mugabe hence McGee advised him to boycott and find and excuse.

Violenec was a good one though very lame excuse. If in Pakstan the opposition went into an election a week following the assasination of their leader what violence then warranted boycotting elections in Zimbabwe?

This man is confused. I think there is something wrong with the entire top brass of the MDC-T.The real fight is back home in Zimbabwe not EU countries.

• There is no need to be confused about this. Tsvangi is doing this to annoy Robert Mugabe because CDE Mugabe is unable to go there under illegal sanctions. Tsvangison has already done a tour of Southern Africa and West Africa. It has nothing to do with SADC or AU.
